The Grand Prix KO Series is nearing its conclusion, which means time is running out if you want to become the festival’s Main Event or Mini Main Event champion. The last of the Day 1s run July 30 to August 2, giving you a few more days to get your main event grind on.
Makic Is The Man in the Main Event
Edvin Makic is the man who finds himself in the envious position of chip leader in the Grand Prix KO #07 Main Event, a $109 buy-in tournament featuring a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. To date, 2,328 players have bought in, and only 343 of those starters have managed to progress to Day 2 on August 2.
Makic has accumulated 2,505,530 chips and $231.25 worth of bounty payments. The Austrian’s stack is slightly larger than the 2,498,281 chips that Liam Hughes of the United Kingdom has in his possession.
We have to give a special mention to Jimmy Mattias Larsen, who currently occupies third place going into Day 2. Sweden’s Larsen has ended eight players’ Main Event run prematurely, and has $331.25 worth of bounty payments already, which is the most of any of the Day 2 players.

Six Brazilians in the Mini Main Event Top 10
A massive crowd of 6,600 players have bought into the Mini Main Event so far, meaning $66,000 of the $100,000 prize pool is already accumulated. Some 946 of those starters are safely through to Day 2, and it appears Brazil has something special in its water because six of the current top 10 hail from the home of Samba.
Adalto Junior is the man to catch right now courtesy of his 2,967,000 stack. Junior also has $29.37 worth of bounties safely tucked away in his partypoker account, meaning he is freerolling towards one of the larger main prize pool payouts.
Rodrigo Sollero is in second-place with his 2,451,057 stack, with fellow Brazilians Gustavo Oliviera Dias (2,290,244), Paulo Vitor Pereira (2,210,358), Diego Tamashiro (2,097,524), and Afonso Tieppo (2,079,700) finding themselves in the top ten after their respective Day 1s.
