Daniel Negreanu has unveiled his schedule for the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP), committing to compete in 40 bracelet events as he aims for his eighth bracelet in a range of mixed games, Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO), and No-Limit Hold’em tournaments scheduled from May 26 to July 15.
The acclaimed seven-time champion shared his comprehensive schedule on social media shortly after the official WSOP calendar was announced. His plan includes participation in 17 No-Limit Hold’em tournaments, 15 mixed game events, and eight Pot-Limit Omaha competitions, starting with Event #5: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha on May 27.
Consistent with recent years, Negreanu’s 2026 schedule exhibits a strong focus on mixed games. He intends to participate in major buy-in tournaments such as the $250,000 Super High Roller, alongside more accessible events like the $300 Gladiators, providing opportunities to engage with recreational players.
Noteworthy events on his calendar include the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship on June 18, the $25,000 High Roller PLO/NLH Mixed on June 23, and the $100,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha on June 30, all of which align well with his strengths and provide feasible routes to bracelet number eight.
Negreanu’s schedule is designed to offer multiple opportunities for bracelet-worthy tournaments across various formats. In addition to high-stakes events, he aims for mid-stakes and accessible tournaments, particularly highlighting the Gladiators event, in which he had a remarkable performance by finishing 73rd out of 23,088 participants in 2023.
Based in Lake Las Vegas, approximately 30 minutes from the Strip, Negreanu carefully arranges his schedule to favor events that start at noon or later, choosing to skip most morning tournaments. This approach allows him to maintain a comfortable routine, including time to review hands, stream content, and mentally prepare before traveling to the Horseshoe or Paris Las Vegas.
Additionally, Negreanu plans to offer a staking package through PokerStake, allowing fans to buy action for his WSOP endeavors. This transparency initiative has been part of his past performances, giving supporters direct access to his tournament outcomes where profits and losses are shared according to his success in events.
As one of the few prominent professional players who openly release complete WSOP profit and loss statements, Negreanu concluded his 2025 WSOP with a profit of $181,000, marking his first successful summer since 2021. He clinched his seventh bracelet during the 2024 $50,000 Poker Players Championship after an unexpected 11-year gap since his last win, following a difficult 2023 in which he incurred a $2 million loss.
The momentum from 2024 continued into 2025, where he finished as the runner-up in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo Championship, narrowly missing an eighth bracelet by losing heads-up to Ryan Bambrick.
With 40 additional attempts at the coveted bracelet during the 2026 summer series, and a robust representation of mixed games in his lineup, Negreanu is strategically positioned to leverage his experience for a successful run.
Negreanu is a two-time WSOP Player of the Year (2004, 2013), and the 2026 POY race will cover three series: WSOP Europe in Prague (March 31-April 12), WSOP Las Vegas (May 26-July 15), and WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas (December 1-18). His participation in 40 Vegas events provides significant volume in the POY race, following in the footsteps of Shaun Deeb, who became the second two-time champion after winning last summer.
The newly structured POY format allocates a total of $1 million to the top 100 finishers, with the champion securing a $100,000 package for WSOP Paradise. If Negreanu performs well, his schedule positions him as a strong contender in the upcoming races.
Earlier in 2026, Negreanu kickstarted his year by joining the $100,000 Super High Roller Bowl Mixed Games event in February, bagging 240,000 chips on Day 1, setting himself up for a deep run in one of the poker world’s most illustrious events. Following a strong finish in 2025 with several victories in mixed game formats from the PokerGO Tour, the momentum from his 2024 win continues to build into this WSOP summer.
